Our project, Tinker VR, an interactive, immersive experience exploring the complexities of Alzheimer’s disease, premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival New Frontier 2021 and was featured at SIGGRAPH 2021 and Games for Change.

Who We Are
Tinker Studio is an indie XR studio founded in 2015, dedicated to creating immersive experiences with real impact. Our journey began as a tribute to our founder’s grandfather, Wayne Ward, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014. Inspired by the experience of gradually losing someone so close, our founder saw virtual reality as the ideal medium to share that emotional journey through its intimate and dynamic storytelling.
Since then, Tinker Studio has developed innovative XR experiences and participated in multiple hackathon projects. We are a collective of passionate artists, designers, coders, and sound engineers who believe in the power of storytelling to create meaningful connections and inspire change.
Tinker is dedicated to creating meaningful and impactful experiences that stimulate important conversations surrounding brain health. Our mission is to advance research in this vital area by providing innovative tools and platforms that encourage dialogue among individuals, caregivers, and professionals. Through our initiatives, we aim to enhance awareness, promote understanding, and facilitate collaborative efforts that contribute to the ongoing exploration and improvement of brain health.
